Privacy policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This policy explains what information this website collects about you, why, and what we do with it. We have tried to keep it short and plain.

Who we are

This website is run by Crossroads Podcast UK, 35 Cospe Crescent, Exeter, Devon, EX1 3YE. You can email us at stephenbeer40@yahoo.com. Our current contact details are always on our contact page.

What we collect and why

Messages you send us

When you use a form on this website, we collect what you type into it: your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, and your message. Some of our forms ask a few more questions:

  • the support group form asks what you would like support with and how you would like us to reach you;
  • the tell your story form asks what you would like to talk about, a little about your story, how you would like to be named on the show and where you are in the world;
  • the get involved form asks how you would like to help.

What you send is stored on the website and emailed to us so that we can reply to you, arrange a support group place or talk with you about coming on the show. We keep it until we delete it.

Some of what you tell us may be about your health, your experiences or things that have happened to you. We treat it as sensitive, use it only to reply to you and to arrange what you asked about, and never share it with anyone else without asking you first. Please only tell us what you are comfortable sharing.

Who handles your information for us

The website is hosted for us in the United Kingdom by British Web Design, who process this information on our behalf. They also deliver the website's email and receive its error reports, which can include your IP address and what you typed into a form, so that they can find and fix faults.

Spam protection

Our forms are checked by Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam. It loads with the page, before any choice about cookies, and lets Google see your IP address and information about your browser.

Cookies

The website sets a session cookie and a security cookie, which every visitor needs for the site and its forms to work.

The website keeps no visitor statistics of its own. If we switch on Google Analytics or advertising tags, such as Google Ads or the Meta Pixel, a banner will ask you first, and none of them is set until you accept. Your answer is remembered in your browser.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to how we use it. Email us at the address above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
